Well, from what I have heard, they just want to avoid them from being in love with them. But the thing is, i don't think these people would be likeable by both sexs. And well, the main thing might be, Why are people homophobic? i mean, are they just so insicure about their sexuality?

often the things you hate in other people are things that you have within yourself, so maybe they are feminine or gay, but are not in touch with it yet.

People are homophobic because they are scared of the unknown. They think being gay is a threat to them when it fact it is not at all. There is nothing wrong with being gay. Love is love, gay or straight. I have known several men that homophobic and they themselves are very metro-sexual. I think they do have a bit of gay tendencies and are afraid to let their true feelings out.

a lot of hetero men feel they have to put on this macho act so that there would be no possible way people would think they are gay. the problem is, most of them try too hard and it makes them look like they are hiding something. and they assume that if a gay man sees them, they will want them, which is ridiculous. they just have to realize that just like not all women want them, not all men will want them either!

It's not a matter of being in love, that implies that they have positive feeling for other men. Usually it is a consequence of having very judgemental and prejudiced parents of the same sex. It is a fear of being homosexual, and thus, unlovable, that drives these people. Believe me, I was married to one for long enough to see the signs. He never knew our nephew (his brother's son) was gay. I knew it from the time he was 7. His teasing and harrasment was horrible. He feels bad now and thank God our nephew went to therapy and seems to be embracing who he is.

guys act girly/"metrosexual" to get laughs or attention, but they feel uncomfortable around the real thing.
