Anxiety only last a short while Stress stays with you. Like the New Orleans people suffered a lot of anxiety at first but after it left them very stressed.

Stress is basicly having too much on yourself. If you feel as if you wont ever get done and you worry about it so much you stress yourself out completely. To prevent it dont take on too much.If you have alot that needs to be done generally, take it one thing at a time an dmark off that one thing. That is what i do,i work and i run a farm literally so there are times that i have so much to do.I make a mental list in my mind of what needs to be done, and then forget about it.Do one thing at a time off of that list dont pay attention the others because if you look at everything that needs to be done, you are going to be so over whelmed.I take it one thing at a time, one day at a time.No fuss or stress.Once i get that first thing finished i move on to the next and mark the one i finished off.Never look at everything you have to do laid out in front of you, figuritively speaking. Also, meditation works great. When people say meditation people usually think about people sitting on pillows and all that.Meditation can happen anyway,in a quiet calm environment, anyway or anywhere you can relax and let that stress out mentally.
The difference in anxiety and stress is anxiety is temporary.Other words,it comes and it goes.Stress is constant, and it remains there always baring on you. Today it is very easy to get stressed in this world,as well as it is easy to get anxiety just take it one step at a time and one thing at a time and it isnt so bad.Good luck!

Stress is the disagreeable sensation you get when your mind overrules your body's violent urge to beat the crap out of someone who really is asking for it.
Seriously: stress is the body's natural reaction to any noxious or unpleasant simuli. Anxiety is a symptom of stress. See Adelle Davis's book Let's Get Well for an excellent chapter on stress and some ways to help you cope with it and ameliorate the damage it may cause.

You can't "prevent" stress. It would bring on anxiety. You need to try to control the source of you stress, do things that relax you and make you happy, exercize more (a lot), eat well (don't over eat), sleep well.
I think stress is a part of adult hood, especially if you have kids. But singles have it to and it is sadly very normal. You are NORMAL. Just take care of yourself...love yourself and try to put youself first as a priority.

Stress is your body saying I'm over whelmed, too much on the plate, take it easy and one thing at a time. Anxiety is the result of stress, worry, what to do. Relax take deep breaths, a walk, nothing is to much, hang loose!

I beleive stress is a state of mind, you are the main factor in dealing with stress, so it's all about how you deal with it. Stress and anxiety go hand in hand, meaning they are directly proportional, when stress is high so is anxiety.
