The United States is a democratic society. We believe, for the most part, that all people should be free from government rule.

The difference between our two parties are significant but it is really more of what we think important that defines us.

The republicans are pro business. Always have been, always will be. They, for the most part, are the party of the more affluent people in this country. People who have money do not want taxes to take it all away and while it would seem the republican party stands for lower taxes reality seems to step in every time and bites them.

The democratic party is more for the average working people in that they are more willing to provide social programs to help out the poor or disenfranchised. They are just as patriotic as republicans but there priorities are different. Instead of running around the globe trying to make other countries into our image democrats believe what goes on here is more important. The problem they have is attracting money and/or people with influence. In order for them to take care of our people they need money. So taxes go up.

I personally am an independent. I do not want to be tied to either party and therefore free to vote for who I feel is the best person.

I am not, and never have been, a Bush fan. Both times he has been elected the democratic process has suffered. But let someone else from another country attack him and I would be the first in line to get back at them.

I am not sure why you think the democrats are anti-American. This is a real puzzle coming from someone outside our country.
I am not sure why you like Bush. He is the only president we have ever had that has attached another country without a good solid reason. Saddam was a bad man yes, but look what we have done for the Iraq people. There are a lot less of them I guess. Is that what makes you pleased?

I hope you don't live in Iran or North Korea. You could be next.

I would very much like to hear more from you about your opinion of America. What brings you to this conclusion?

And your English is very good.

I'm an American and very much pro-American when we are not screwing up the world. The things that make this a great country are:

Separation of church and state -- so that everyone can have any faith and the beliefs of any faith cannot define law (i.e. religious freedom)

Freedom of speach -- ability to express any belief, including those against the sitting administration and current policies, without fear of government reprisal

Equality and civil rights -- okay, it's been a road to get there but huge progress was made the latter half of the last century

The Bush administration has taken all of the above backwards. His religion has greater inroads into governing and the prejudiced rhetoric of the Christian fundementalists has been increasingly wrapped into political issues. The Patriot Act is unpatriotic and that of a tyranical government. Equality doesn't exist for all and the Bush administration judges those with differences as less worthy of the same legal treatment, gay marriage as a prime example.

Our constitution systemizes a peaceful change over in leadership every four years. The Democrats you see as unamerican are not, they simply and deeply value other aspects of this country than those of the sitting administration. That is one of the things that makes America what it is - a place where opposition is accepted (less so with Bush, but it's still not illegal).

As far as world impression, the Bush administration garners one of bigotry, tyranny, and brutality more than any Democrat administration ever has. He's lied to the people about Iraq to further his own private agenda. He invaded another nation without provocation in defiance of the UN under the bogus label of "pre-emptive war." He's exempted himself from so very, very many of the laws he's signed. He's driven this country into huge debt while complaining about those who advocate for social services and adequate federal funding for "homeland" security. Many, many reasons to seriously have serious issues with the Bush brand of Americana. Having the ability to express them is about as American as it gets!

People in America have many choices, which is probably why you like America.

While it is great to choose and determine your destiny in America, it is disappointing when an opposing leader is chose. Opposing, meaning someone who is not in tune with your concerns for peace, education and remedy of society ills.

Understand that if someone is disappointed at the progress that a leader has made during his term, that is not un-American. They may be disappointed at his performance, but he does not rule every law, aspect and freedom that we enjoy in this country.

Many times, a leader does his best to serve the country and its people. When the people suffer, but big business flourishes and the war is in full gear, the people are upset.

So, they would be called anti-Bush, not anti-American. They don't hate the country or the freedoms of the country, they are just disappointed that the leader has disregarded the poor, the ill and the unemployed in order to fuel a senseless war and still remain on good terms with wealthy industrialists...imagine that!

I don't stand behind a party. I support the more worthy man(Although I learn towards Republicans) I don't dislike Bush, but neither do I like him all that much. He's doing the best he can, and in many of these situations it's damned if you do, and damned if you don't. Go to war, or let terrorists get away? He was screwed either way. George Bush was the best candidate, and I believe people just hate him because it's the cool thing to do... bash Bush.

Funny, I listened to 8 years of the Repubicans complaining about Clinton and never were they called anti-American. Now that W is in office, anyone that doesn't like him is called anti-American. The reason so many conservatives resort to name calling is because they aren't intellingent enough to articulate an argument. If you look at the economy, the deficit, the lies that led up to Iraq, the list goes on and on, there is no way that one can support this president.

its all about power or the lack of it
Democrats have slowly lost the power they held for many years and they are trying to regain it
They have lost their political party to kook left wing fringe ideologues
who sit in their tree houses pondering global warming and other important(to them) issues
like why business is bad for the world
and how come no one appreciates Fidel Castro.
those are the issues - that and how do we get back the power and the prestige of being at the top of the hill
Their pr is handled by Hollywood elites who pontificate on the sorrow and the poverty and all of those things that they know nothing about behind their gated hollywood mansions

so you can see they are pretty lost
splintered and lost and they don't stand to gain anything by their politics of negatives and anti Americanism

the lame stream media tries to develop issues that will help them but they are their own worst enemy's and the general public sees this

I am American.....I am a registered Republican.....I love my country.....I know all of the words to the Preamble, Declaration of Independence and all patriotic songs (as do my children)......and I love George W. Bush! The Dem's worry more about the whole idea of politics more than they care about the safety of our country, or tax reform, or the social welfare system, etc.... Do you know why so many individuals dislike our sitting president? Because he is strong and decisive and sticks to his will! God bless GWB!
