Yes it does. Not in a negative way, though. A full moon gives all living things extra energy and playfulness. A black moon makes things dull. A new moon helps seeds sprout.
It is not superstition. When you consider how much water there is in our bodies, and how the Moon influences the tides of the seas, it stands to reason.
Some people might say that the Full Moon makes us so energetic because it is reflecting the power of the sun all night. That makes sense too, as the sun is a very euphoric and energetic hit. But the Moon has always been believed to have her own special power and influence and it is so beautiful to go full-moon bathing!
All ancient cultures revered the Moon. It doesn't matter how they explained it, they revered Her because they felt her beautiful and gentle presence.
You should expose yourself to Moonlight more often and keep a diary. If you have pets, watch how a Full Moon affects them. Write down everything you see and sense and feel, and that'll be all the scientific evidence you will need.

It is an old wives' tale that there is more crime, emergency calls and overall "insane" behavior during full moons than at other times. It's been called the "lunar effect" and has origins in Europe in the Middle Ages, kind of like using leeches to cure diseases, and unfortunately is still widely believed today. People often assert that there is a connection between the full moon and erratic behavior when they have no evidence other than what they have heard from other people. This idea is reinforced by popular culture, stories in which werewolves and witches come out on the full moon, etc. Statistical analysis of reported incidents of crime, violence and agitation (sucha s with mental partients) compared to the lunar cycles shows no significant relationship between the full moon and such behavior. Perhaps there are so many "I swear it is true" anecdotes by so-called "professionals" because human beings tend to look for patterns even when none really exist, compounded by the fact that we are culturally "informed" that there is a connection between the full moon and erratic behavior. Anecdotal stories are not evidence, and neither are pseudo-scientific reasoning about the tides and the water in our bodies (NOT the same thing!). Look at the comprehensive studies of actual incidents over time and space that have been performed by people who are trained to identify actual relationships.

When I was a student, I believed this to be just superstition. However, in working in a justice system, I have had first hand knowledge of the behavior changes happening on 'full moon week." I have had access to informal studies conducted by the local mental health board (they fight to not have the on-call pager during that week) and more formal ones conducted at some of the larger research facilities here and abroad. Take a look at some of the local studies in your area. You can research the others on line or at your university. It is such a confirmed fact that one very religious lady that works with me has posted the moon phases on her desktop so that she is more aware of what will be going on with our clientele. She likened it to superstition previously, but after 7 years here, can't deny the facts.

The moon can affect the behaviour of people depending on their interpretation of the power of the moon. For example a holy plant will make some people kiss under it during a certain time of the year while it does not affect me at all....learning affects behaviour.

This one has been an ongoing controversy for years. Some scientists say no. Others argue that the gravitational pull... etc. has an effect. As a psychologist, I am still debating. Textbooks say no. But I worked my way through college as a bartender and saw a lot of evidence to refute the textbooks. So I suppose the debate continues.

I know that the moon affects a human/werewolf's behavior. This is not speculation or folklore their real jack.

The moon cycle is roughly monthly, as we know. We also know that the menstrual cycle is roughly monthly. I've heard that men supposedly have a similar hormonal cycle, which I think was also monthly. These are correlations, and not proof of cause and effect. They could all just be similar cycles and be completely unrelated.

yes it does, when I spent a year in an underground cave hiding out from the FBI on suspicion of being a member of the 'Welsh Liberation Army' I found I could control my urges very well, before I would always use a hosepipe and some thrush cream if things got bad but its all cleared up now.
