no you cant
a 56kbps dialup modem different method to send data than the broadband modem.
a dialup modem changes the digital siginals into analoge signal. these signals are of same frequency of that of sending voice over telephone lines. so you cant simultaneously talk and surf net from a single phone line.
unlike dialup a broadband modem such as a DSL modem uses different frequenciy for analog signals than that of telephone voice signals.so you can simultaneously talk and use internet.
thus you cant use a traditional dialup modem for a broadband connection.

No, its not enough to take broad band.
You at least require 112kbps modem.
Or else you have another choice ,by taking BSNL connection along with a modem provided by them.

56kbps modem uses direct dialup thro' telephone lines.
broad band connections normally works thro' a router, and the router connected to ur computer thro' either USB or EHTHERNET PORTS.
Also broad band speed goes beyond 56 kbps.(64,128,256,512..etc.,)
