They are 6 panel masonite hollow core door slabs (no cuts for lockset and and hinges), and I plan to keep my existing framing. I would particularly like to know the order that I should do the steps of the installation in, and the materials that I need.

Thank your kindly, for your help with this.

P.S. I also have to trim the length of some of the doors.

1. First you will have to cut the doors to length. Using two sawhorses, lay the door on the horses, using carpet pieces for protecting the door.
2. Measure the opening from jamb head to top of carpet or hard flooring. Take off 5/8". (1/8" for the gap at the top and 1/2" for the gap at the bottom.
3. Mark the bottom of the door. (Make sure it is the bottom you are marking).
4. Take a box cutter knife and slowly and carefully score the masonite about 1/8". Take your time with this. Several passes.
5. Adjust a circular saw to cut approximately 1/2" through the whole door.
6. Cut JUST BELOW the scored mark. Careful not to go above the mark.
7. If you have cut all of the rail out (the bottom piece you just cut), and you can see the hollow core of the door, then you must carefully dig out some of the inside corrigated masonite to make room for re-installing the rail. Take the piece you just cut off, peel the masonite off of it and glue it back in place.
8. Support the door on edge now. Carefully measure from the top of the jamb to the top of the first existing hinge. Take off 1/8" and use that measurement on your new door for the first hinge to be cut.
9. Using the existing hinge, trace an outline on the new door edge. Note how far the hinge is placed on the existing door and use the same measurement.
10. Repeat for all 3 hinges.
11. Carefully score with the knife the outline of the hinge. Using a chisel, chisel out to the depth of the hinge itself.
12. Now you are ready to swing the door. Attach the hinges to the old jamb and the new door and set the door, using the hinge pin to connect.
13. Adjust the door to the opening by shimming the hinges if necessary.
14. Cutting the door for the doorknob is easy if patience is used. First mark the door at the center of the striker plate hole.
15. Now determine the backset distance. Probably 2 3/8". Measure in 2 3/8" from the edge of the door and make a mark on the other mark you already made.
16. Drill the door hole first using a jig or a hole saw. Then drill the throw hole. You will have to determine what size these holes are by either measuring the existing door holes or, if new knobs are used, follow those directions.
19. Using the same procedure as before, outline, score and chisel out for the throw.
20. Install the knob.

Hope I was helpful.
Good luck!

you can change your door with out having to change anything, just measure your door height and width depth also measure fro the bottom to the first hinge then the second one then the third. these three things is all you need to do.
