I have a lot of oysters outside and I want to see if I can use the mother-of-pearl for something. I know it's possible; I've seen pictures of necklaces, silverware, dishes, etc... complete with a short paper on what tools to use for mother-of-pearl. Do you have any other ideas?
By the way, I know this may not be in the right category, but I don't know where else to ask!!

A picture frame would be gorgeous, or maybe a nice tray or ornamental table top. Maybe if you have a local art or design studio, you can see if anyone there knows how to work with the material.

Guitar makers use it for guitar decoration, you may have a small business on your hand for some of the smaller guitar companies. Right now necklaces with BIG parts are so popular, you could use them for that. Go to Fire Mountain Gems on-line. They give directions for jewelry, sell tools and will give you great ideas.

The prettiest uses incude the inlays on a fine guitar and furniture. IMHO.

inlay some furniture. Start with a small table and go from there.
