I don't listen to them much these days to be sure, but did think about going to their show this year. I still have my lp's and I can't say that about most of the music I owned in the 70's.

Their first four albums were among my very favorite in their time, especially Every Good Boy Deserves Favor. I liked them way more than Pink Floyd.

I was also a big R&B fan, but for the most part Rock really sucked back them. But, then came glam, and such, which led me elsewhere (Elton John, Bowie, Lou Reed, etc.)...then reggie and dub...

I did like Electric Light Orchestra for a while later, but no one else ever managed to get the full, rich, multilayer thing going like MB. (At least not until like The Tubes and then later The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, INXS, ?)

'Course by the clarian call, Metal Machine Music, rock had changed forever. And the concept album fell from favor. After Goodbye Yellow Brick Road the next one I can think of off-had was Patti Smith's Horses. Good ones still are few and far between. Last good example I can think of is The Flaming Lips' Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, or perhaps Green Days' American Idiot [but it's early].

I adore the Moody Blues. They really should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. A Question of Balance is one of the greatest albums of all time.
