Severe stomach cramps which begin before a period and continue for the first couple of days are often a symptom of endometriosis. Do you have very painful periods? At the beginning or end of your period do you get a kind of brownish discharge? These are other symptoms of endometriosis. You can google it if you want to find any more information about it. Otherwise, take some ibuprofen (motrin) regularly (three times a day with food) for the three days before your period is due and that should help.

Personally I don't get "really bad stomach aches". But I normally have discomfort the week before I'm about to get my mensus. I don't believe in taking anything unless it's life or death.

But you could try like pamprin or motrin, or tylenol...something like that might help you.

Blessings To You & Yours

I think it's more like stomach cramps. One way to ease the pain is to fill up a hot water bag with boiling water. After the cap is secured, put the hot water bag over your stomach. Try it - it's the best relief you'll get.

How come you don't know this? Probably half the girls I've ever known have had this problem at some time or another - some so bad that they have to stay in bed.
