An east indian woman taught me how to make good white rice-in the microwave! You use a microwave safe utensil and fill with amount of rice desired. You then rinse the rice with cold water until the water runs clear. Then add equal amount of water. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes on high and you will have rice that is great!

Hello,
Just make sure you add water till it reaches slightly above the uncooked rice (say about 1 centimetres from the brim of the rice) in the rice cooker.
Wash your rice only once to retain its goodness.
