A VOE is a Verification of Employment. It can be either written or verbal. Generally used for lending purposes where the Lender obtains information about borrower(s) regarding place, length, type of employment and/or income.

An additional note, a VOR or VOM is a Verification of Rent or Verification of Mortgage, whereby information regarding the pay history and/or residency is provided by the Landlord/Mortgage Holder of the borrower(s). Most often required in written form by Lenders.

A VOD is a Verification of Deposit, wherein information regarding a borrower's assets (i.e. checking account, savings account, mutual funds, etc...). Required in written form by Lenders.
