i gave up my daughter at birth for adoption 4 yrs ago. i was wondering if anyone new of anything or anywhere i could look for her records of where she is or anything about her. the case was semi-open. thanks

You should contact the agency you went through for information.

most likely the agency you used to find a family for her. they probably won't tell you an address or phone number, but since the adoption was semi-open they may contact the family for you to get you a picture of her or have them write a letter to you about her. just remember the scariest thing for an adoptive parent is to answer the phone to the adoption agency they went through to get that baby, not matter what they are calling for. my aunt adopted a little girl from california and for the first 4-5 years she was scared to death to answer the phone because the birth mother had a right to change her mind still, but this was like 12 years ago so things might be different. anyhow, i reccomend calling the agency and asking them how you could get a picture of your daughter or at least know how she is doing etc.

I believe that you need to contact an adoption lawyer. Each state has different laws regarding what information can be given out to birth parents, adopted children, etc. Good luck!
