Chandigarh, August 14: A court remanded Gaganjit Singh Barnala, son of Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, to judcial custody till August 28 in an alleged rape case.
Judicial Magistrate Atul Marya pronounced the order remanding Barnala, a sitting Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) legislator, to 14 days judicial custody in a jam-packed court room.
Several supporters of the MLA from his Dhuri Constituency raised slogans against Chandigarh police inside and outside the court premises.

We don't totally understand the question or know what happened during or before the trial, or if it was disposed of before a trial. Yes its a crime but maybe you should be more specific as to what happened if you want a better answer.

Yes, it is a crime, but it has to be proven as one before punishment occurs. Sometimes crimes go unpunished because the offender is found not guilty.

of course it is..well it is clear in our constitution that the judiciary is free of the executive ....moreover there still exists something called right to equality which forbids any kind of discrimination ......but well the trial is yet to decide the guilty.i wish a speedy justice to both the boy and the maid..
