For those of you that don't realise it's illegal please read below and check out the link.

The Race Relations Act 1976 makes it illegal to treat someone less favourably because of the colour of their skin, their race, their nationality or their ethnic or national origin.

The Crime and Disorder Act 1998 also created new criminal offences in relation to race, such as racially aggravated criminal damage, assault and public order offences. And another law, called the Public Order Act 1986, makes it illegal to incite racial hatred, whether through the language used or through actions, such as distributing racist leaflets. Penalties are severe for anyone convicted of a racially motivated crime.

(This means that is illegal to place some of the racist questions that are put on this site!)

I know it sounds crazy but under the grounds of freedom of speech.. It seems that in some cases it is abused and in turn people get hurt.

My supervisor who is in the military told me about an E/O class he attended amazingly enough everyone in the class voted that equality in America exists, however the instructor
performed a demo in which he had one person take regular steps and another person take steps like take 1 step forward 2 steps back turn 2 full circles and 1 step forward to see who would get to a full money clip. Of course the person taking regular steps got there faster. However, did the test over taking some of the restrictions away from the 2nd person the 1st person still got there faster. the moral I believe is that through history every minority other than blacks have received reparations therefore though blacks have strived in some cases it will take that much longer to get to where our white counterparts are.

No forty acres and a mule. The generations who would have been allowed such liberties are dying off with almost nothing to leave to newer generations. Although most whites have prevailed with old money/land/businesses. Most big businesses are owned by whites.

It almost seems as if it is a set up to fail mission.

Because Yahoo can't police this many people, unless people report abuse on the site.

And technically racism is not illegal - verbal racial abuse, and physical crimes that are racially motivated are illegal and considered hate crimes. Therefore, stating a racist opinion on here is technically not illegal, unless it is directed at an individual.

However, it is still abuse of Yahoo's terms.

I think Yahoo rely on the site being self-policing - there is the option to report violations.
However, I have to say some people have very broad definitions of racism. Whilst it is true I have observed many cases of outright, unambiguous racism, I have also seen people accused of being racist for being critical of a government, a religion or aspects of a culture. That is not racism, I believe it to be healthy to challenge belief and point out hypocrisy and injustice.

Actually the only time Racism is concidered "illegal" is in Hiring/Firing and Legal issues. Due to free speech a person can be as racist as they wish. Personally I'm glad to see it, it's nice to be able to hear/see them in public so you know almost immediately who you don't want to bother getting to know. That's right, I'm intolerant of those who are intolerant and quite proud of it. Life is too short to deal with the haters.

It is not allowed on this site. Problem is, there are so many posts that it is hard to filter them all, but they are trying. If you report someone here for racist comments, the comments are generally removed within a few hours.

i wouldn't say allowed. it's just if someone believes they can get away with making a racist comment they are going to try. The problem with racism is that is taught and that hateful cycle will never end

1. if you don't like it, report them. it's in the community guidelines
2. racism isn't illegal, illegal acts committed with a racial bias are treated harsher than their nonbiased counter parts. so if someone sends you a virus email from answers because of your race, that's a racially motivated attack.
