Loutro is hard to beat. You can only get there by boat. It is on the south coast immediately below Chania. The best way to get there is bus (from Chania about 1 and a half hours) over the White mountains (great views here) to Chora Sfakion. There are frequent boat from there to Loutro (about twenty minutes).
Loutro has a website - just google for it.

each day! and each and each evening! i'm surrounded on 3 sides by technique of the nationwide wooded area. on the prompt we are getting a lot rain that we are 'stranded.' 9 inches. an rather good type of the bridges are less than water and some in different places have washed out. The sound of the water coming down the mountain is a roar in the creek next to us. Such power in nature. At evening even as there is not any moon, the darkish is so 'thick' you may want to poke a hollow in it. even as the moon is complete there are actually shadows of the timber on the floor. Unreal. the celebrities are so sparkling and vivid it doesn't even seem actual. Nature is really incredible. even as a useless tree limb receives heavy from the rain and falls to the floor, there's a valid it really is so loud it makes you bounce! the most well-known sound i visit ever listen in my entire existence is the sound that those little frogs that draw close out in the damp spots in the wooded area. it is the most haunting, eye-catching sound a soul can ever listen. If i might want to come across a recording of it i'd play it interior till it grow to be warmth adequate to open the abode windows and hear the actual ingredient.

Stay in Hania (Chania, Xania... I don't know how one spells it these days), and see the Samaria Gorge.
