Like buying an LCD or a laptop, why widescreen and not fullscreen?

Fullscreen trims away the picture on the left and right sides to fit the screen. Widescreen shows the full aspect ratio. widescreen only sucks on small screens. On large enough screens it's great. also, HDTV is made in 16:9 ratio so eventually it will be the standard.

The 16:9 ratio is a more natural view for the human eye.

Widescreen isn't better it sucks!

Better for natural scenery, but not for movies, look like stretched..

because m ore and more broadcasets are being shown in that format.
