I live in Greece, but I used to watch the programme when I was in Belgium... I just want to know how many years have the Simpsons been playing in the US and how often the new episodes appear on TV. Thx!

In the US, the simpsons are currently on season #17.
Although season #18 is going to premiere on Sept. 10 2006.
The first episode that I found was originally aired on Dec 17 1989
New episodes come on about everyweek during each new season.

The Simpsons' were originally seen in 1987 as a short on `The Tracey Ullman Show.
The Simpsons premiered December 17, 1989. They're currently in their 18 season. Season 1-7 are available on DVD in the USA. New episodes are weekly, 22 or 23 new episodes a season. There's also a Simpsons movie coming out in July of 2007.

Probably like 12 or so on tv
New episodes come on every Sun at 8 pm.
But the new season won't start until the fall
