What is saree, but a six yards length of unstitched fabric?
But within its humble form lie layers and layers of promises and possibilities. In its folds resides the magic that can transform in a flash the commonplace to extraordinary, the mundane to ethereal and anything boring to sensuous. There is no greater tribute to the woman’s body than a saree.
The beauty of the apparel is dependent on the way one wears it. Being a simple piece of cloth a saree lends itself to all kinds of manipulations and experimentations by the wearer. It can be worn like a loose tent, or a body hugging attire. It can conceal all the curves of the feminine body for the sake of modesty or accentuate them in the name of high fashion. The uncovered navel and belly part provides the ultimate oomph to the wearer. The positioning of the anchal, the colour and transparency of the saree, the cut of the blouse—all these areas prod the saree lovers’ imagination. Aren’t the Hindi film heroines at their sexiest best when they toy with a saree?
Having said that I must also add that making the werer sexy is just one function of a saree. It can also make her modest, confident, graceful, casual or even divine.

I think that it is AMONG the most beautiful dress styles! In the early 90's, a designer (sorry, I forget his name) made a dress inspired by the indian saree. I think it really is a matter of opinion, but it is very stunning. It seems sophisticated at times, and always beautiful. You might want to look at the womenswear from Thailand! I think that is very pretty to, as well as the native Korean dress, and the Kimono.

It's just a plain piece of cloth tied around a woman! How is that the sexiest thing ever??
Try looking at some crotchless lingerie and see if you still think the saree is the best.

I think the sari is one of the most beatiful female garments ever. The way in which one piece of fabric can be worn and in so many styles and be so versatile is amazing! Now you can also get sari blouses in lots of different styles which make the outfit even more unique. However, as a British-born Indian I have to say I struggle when I wear one as I'm not so good at putting it on!
