well well well if u want to reduce the image without changing its size to that much it is not possible. with the help of winzip u can reduce size but only 10-30 kb for 500 kb imags file. yaa one more thing make sure that image is in jpeg format if it is in bmp format then convert it to jpg. this will reduce alot of size. but if it is already in jpeg and u still want to reduce size then u can do it by reducing its size. to do that u need adobe photoshop. in pgotoshop click on edit and then select image size. reduce it. i.e. if u file size is 500*400 pixels then change it to 250*200 pixels u well get good result by doing this
hope this will solve ur prob.
bye

Photoshop Elements is only $78.00 at Sam's Club and it does almost all the things as the full version of Photoshop. With this program, you can reduce the image size and makes pictures suitable for e-mailing, plus hundreds of other functions. It's one of the best bargains out there. If you don't belong to Sam's Club, you can get it at Best Buy for $99.00.

Crop them. When you squeeze them, you are only changing the view, not the number of pixels. When you crop, you take away actual file size. So crop them pretty close, just down to the face or whatever focal point is of interest, and let the recipient blow them up from there if they want a larger overall image.

Photoshop or any other graphic software will do.
If mailing thru Qutlook ... drag and drop the pics onto outlook, it will automatically ask to reduce the size of the photo.

You need a picture program like Photoshop, or one of the many other ones. Photoshop is pretty expensive, but there are many others that do a good job for little or no money. Why not check out downloads.com

230kb is not a big file to be sent by e-mail. You can zip it using your win zip, save it as zip file and attach it to your mail.
