It depends where on your body you get it. Areas with more fat hurt less and areas that have more bone hurt more. And afterwards it feels like a really bad sunburn. But if its something that you really want to do then the pain doesnt really matter, it is worth it.

I think I have quite an average pain threshold. I don't pretend something didn't hurt when it blatantly did, but I don't moan about every little bump or scratch either. I had a tattoo on my right leg just above my ankle and it was bearable. Not so excessively painful that it's unbearable. It's slightly more painful that dragging your fingernail across your arm so it leaves a red mark, without piercing the skin. Like I said If I can handle it anyone can.

Depends on how large it is and where you are getting it done at. In my experience (22 of them) I think that the closer you get to bone the worse it is, stay on muscle and it is not that bad. It will be come numb after awhile but it still hurts. The worst is when it is healing and itching. Make sure that you get one that means something to you, not just because it is cool, NEVER get any ones name except your children and ask yourself, what will the nurse at the nursing home think about this when I am 80???

It's not bad at all. It is kinda painful depending where you get it. I have 2 on my back; 1 lower and 1 upper. They didn't hurt that much at all. After your done it feels like a carpet burn!

It depends on where you get it done on your body. I won't lie, it's kinda painful, but you'll get over it if you want a tattoo bad enough.

Depends where you have it.The areas close to the bone hurt a little bit more than the fleshy parts of your body. But all in all its not a pain which wipes you out.Once the inital outline of the tat is done the bodys own painkillers start to kick in.Make sure the tat is worth it.

Hey Girl,

Please do not get a tatoo. A person can always tell a prostitute by the tatoos she has..

Think of your future. Most companies do not want a girl to have a tatoo if they work for them.

Most married men do not want his wife to have a tatoo.

Depends on where you get it.

Any bony area, like the wrist, ankle or scapula, is going to hurt more than getting it on your thigh or butt.
