and i am being seriouse what is the funny musky smell in asian shops in the uk.

Could be curry, the spice. People that eat a lot of it ie: India Indians, seem to have a very strong smell of Curry, it is like our salt & pepper. It lingers too, for a LONG time!

Hi.
It could be incense.
Also, Im not sure about Asians but Muslims and Indians have their own form of perfume (I dont know whats in it or why its special but Ive seen it- they come in little bottles but the scent is very strong... you only need a drop)

Maybe sandlewood incense. I know that some asian cultures build shrines in their workplaces and burning incense is a common religious practice.
