First to should go to the library and look at some landscaping books to get an idea of the things you do and don't like. Make a drawing of your area with dimensions and take them to your local garden center and ask them for some ideas. They can also help with what types of plants will work best in what location. Be sure to let them know if you are dealing with a sunny spot or is it a combination of both. Go there with as much information as you can so they can help you. Take a picture of the area even and take it there.

How long is a piece of string??????
It all depends on your requirements=landscape firm employed=their suitability for the job=current costs.
There are many landscaping firms advertising on-line and it is well worth searching through them.
Remember to ask for there credentials, [up to date] insurance coverage and references. A genuine firm "will" produce these readily and willingly.
If the don`t - don`t use them.
If you need any further advice do not hesitate to ask. Send me an email

Sheesh thats impossible to answer, sorry. How big is the garden, what type of plants and lawn do you want, are you having pergolas, gazebos or garden furniture, will there be a water feature etc etc etc. Realistically it can be from a few hundred pounds to many thousands. Not much help im afraid, best of luck.

Doh!
How much garden? What kind of landscaping? Any masonry or plumbing or electrical work involved? What's the climate? What kind of plants do you want? Any furniture? Water features?
This is like asking "How big is it?" ... you have to be much much more specific if you want an answer that means more than "So big!"

How long is a piece of string?? How big is your garden, what remedial work needs doing first, what features to you want, do you want walls, or panelling, in which case how high and how long, do you want paths, in which case what type, what size and how wide, do you want a pond, in which case how big and how deep, with or without fountains, do you want trees, shrubs, bushes, plants, if so, how many of each, what variety..........work out EXACTLY what you want, then get estimates from firms recommended by friends and neighbours- there are a hell of a lot of cowboys out there.

all prices.....you usually get what you pay for except in a city......where you can always find hispanic people in crews that do landscaping and they are always good....if you go to a professional you are looking at big bucks. I don't know why hispanics have such a green thumb, but they do and know lots about plants.
