Lately when i try to go to sleep i can hear a quiet ringing in my right ear that just wont go away, i am a teengaer so i listen to headphones sometimes but not too loud, and a couple of months ago i went to a concert, and i was near the front and when i left i couldnt hear hardly anything for the rest of the night! do all adults get that, because people who listen to loud stuff and go to concerts all the time must be really deaf. Will the noise go away? thanks

Ear ringing can be a symptom of hearing damage, hypertension, and Temporomandibular joint diseases (a jaw bone disorder), or an accumulation of earwax.

Purchace an earwax removal kit at any drug store. Lay off the head phones and loud music first. If the ringing continues, make an appointment with your doctor.

try talking to the yups in their tuned cars with speakers twice the size of the car.
Prolonged exposing to loud noise will turn you deaf eventually but if only for short periods of time a few hours once a month max. it won't do to much harm.
If you've been exposed to extreme loud noises it's not uncommon to have a ringing in your ears and not hear anything for a while(try firing a gun without earmuffs you'll go deaf for 30 minutes)
However if you have ringing from listening to your headphones its a sign they're probably to loud!!

That's tinnitus, most common cause is loud music etc. You need to take care you don't want to suffer hearing loss or worse get ringing noises all the time because of damage to your ears. The best site I've found is at http://www.tinnitusformula.com/ . I haven't tried their vitamins so don't know if they work. I did e-mail Dr. Berry with some questions and got a reply from him.

If you have tinnitus, it is harmless, although annoying. I have lived with it since childhood. Don't worry, you are not going deaf. You might try sleeping with a wind-up clock. That way you concentrate on the ticking of the clock rather than the ringing. Eventually you will learn to separate sounds so that you barely notice it.

like others have said tinnitus is a pretty good diagnosis. This can cause pretty significant problems as you get older...u may have a constant whooshing in the ear that will require some assisitive listening devices...unfortunately I hve been told that there is nothing that can be done about this....you may just have to learn to live with it.

Take care of your ears while you still can. Unfortunately my mom ruined hers with headphones. Even though they're not too loud...a continuous use might damage your membranes. You should seek professional advice for this. Good luck.

I have ringing ears, it's so loud I have to turn something on to drown it out. I'm in my thirties so my ears have probably taken a bit more damage than yours. You should look after them as you don't want to lose your hearing at such a young age.

Sounds like tinnitus,I had that for a long time, drove me mad but it did go away.It could also be a build up of wax.See your doc.The other thing that causes this is high blood pressure,so get checked out.

Hopefully, consider it a warning that if you continue going to these 'concerts' you will eventually suffer hearing loss.
