How about this suggestion...
The wax needs to be melted for it to be easily picked up...take a paper towel and put it over the wax and then with a hair dryer try and get the wax to a liquid state so the paper towel can absorb it.

Heat up an iron and put a paper towel down over the wax. Then rub the hot iron over the paper towel so the wax underneath melts and soaks into it. Be careful that you don't leave the iron on the paper towel too long or it might catch on fire. You could also get a razor blade and carefully run it under the wax if there's a lot of it. Hold the blade more horizontally as you go, not up and down where it could scratch the glass.

They make a candle wax remover found at most stores near the candles. Also you can use a warm iron and paper towels. Lay the towels over the spot and put the warm iron on the towels. This melts the wax and the towels pick it up. That is how our church does it. It works, but have plenty of paper towels, or you will just keep melting it and reapplying to the surface.

Get an old towel or rag and place over the wax, helps to put a couple paper towels under the towel, heat an iron fairly high without steam. It will soak into the paper towels, even if it gets on the rest throw it away.
Work a lot faster than a hair dryer! Just don't iron directly on carpet or fabric.

Take a paper sack put it on top of the wax, put a towel on top of that. heat up a clothes iron and run it over the area. you may have to change out the sack several times depending on how thick the wax is. The paper sack will absorb the wax.

Take a paper bag and place it over it and then take a iron hot and use it like you are ironing and the wax will absorb into the paper bag and and lift from the floor and the table.
