Do falcons normally escape and break loos from falconers?

I was shooting a photo story on the Falconers from the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs, they have the only perfoeming mascot in the NCAA, and they said every once in a while one of thier falcons would break off and fly away but they had radio transmitters on thier legs and after a few hours they would find them and recover them with the training swing and some food. I say a good bird needs to stretch it's wings sometimes. Amazing birds and beautiful to watch in action.
