Try downloading AVG anti-virus software, and Tenebril's Spycatcher for a spyware scanner, and also download Adaware SE (great thing for picking up cookies and the like that might stop your computer performing like you want it to).

http://www.download.com (AVG anti-virus, Tenebril Spycatcher)
http://www.lavasoft.com (ad aware SE)

You also might have battery problems, in which case I'd go to a professional battery sales company to get your computer battery replaced.

You might also try defragmenting your computer (go to "Start" then click "Programs", go to "System Tools", you will find "Disk Defragmenter"). This may help it.

If all else fails, back up the files you wish to keep, and reformat the computer by using the disk that came with the computer when you brought it.

I really hope this helps!

It's probably got some spyware or adware that is attempting to load when you boot up.

Get some good spy removers: Adaware SE, Spybot S & D, Ewido Security Suite (trial) and Yahoo anti spy. All are free and can be found via a search engine. Download, Install, update the definitions and run them.

If you don't have anti virus protection, you should get it. AVG is free and excellent for keeping your system clean.

Another problem may be startup programs. You may have too many starting. It you have gobs of icons on your start menu bar, go to each program and change the options to not open program at start up. You can also do that through the command prompt by typing msconfig...going to the start tab and disabling programs there. Don't use that option if you're not sure what you are doing.

I hope this helps you.

Scan for adware and viruses, defragment your hard drive, check to make sure the fan is running and isn't clogged up with dust (the CPU may be overheating), and although this seems obvious, check the power cord to see that it's plugged in properly and not getting bumped loose.
