Please forgive my intrusion into this area, but one of my cousins developed TSS years ago before the doctors got a handle on it. She got through it and is OK, but you couldn't pay her to use one at night. If I were you I would definitely ask a doctor.

Yes, it is safe to use tampons while you are asleep. But, you MUST change your tampon from 4 to 8 hours, so if you are a sleep in till noon type of girl, I wouldn't do it. Wear pads to bed if you sleep in for a long time. Or, if you have the ability to get up at a certain hour of the night to change it.

No, commercial tampons are the most harmful out of over twenty different menstrual options, wearing them to bed is harmful not only because there is the potential for leaving them in your body for longer than normal but also because of flow.

Because you are laying down it means gravity is not taking effect to take the flow down into the tampon, as tampons work by absorbing fluids, and so also absorb discharge, it means that there is less fluid going into the tampon, this in turn means that more chance of causing vaginal splitting that can allow bacteria into the vaginal wall causing further risk of infection.

For bed it is best to use sanitary pads, menstrual cups or period blankets.

I think its safe to wear tampons to bed. However, its been suspected of causing TSS in women who wear them to long. Tss is Toxic Shock Syndrome and can be dangerous. I reccomend wearing a pad that fits the "flow" to bed, rather than wear the tampon. Ask your Dr!

Yes it is safe, just make sure that you don't over sleep. If you aren't safe you can get Toxic Shock Syndrome from leaving your tampon in for more than 8 hours.

it truly is punctiliously secure to positioned on them to mattress as long as you at the prompt are not napping longer than 7 or 8 hours...then there's a danger of TSS. yet try to be wonderful...and only in case, double up and function both so that you dont have any more beneficial of those sucky injuries. :)
