I'm not too convinced that Juve cannot be back in Serie A for the 2007/08 season. And here's why:
Usually, 85-90 points should get you in the top three spots of Serie B. Actually Atalanta finished first last season with 81 points. They won 24 games and lost 9.
Personally, despite Juve losing top players, i still think they have a strong core group of players. Therefore there is no reason they should equal or do better than Atalanta last season.
So lets say they go 29 wins, 10 ties, and 3 losses. That gives them a total of 97 points. Minus the 17 penalty, thats 80 points. That could be good enough for first or at least top four - therefore playoffs.
I know this is just hypothetical, but not entirely unrealistic because, again, they have not just a decent group of players, but also a great fan base wherever they play.
I almost look forward to them starting with the -17 pts, that way it will be so much sweeter when they do make it back to Serie A after just one season. And it won't surprise me to see many players wanting to play for them.

Are you talking about the current season 06/07 or next 07/08? If you're talking about the current one, the answer is no cause their appeals apparently failed and they're stuck in serie B. As for next season they would need to pull off something close to a miracle cause they start the current season with -30 points

I love Juve but I'm also realistic ...it's impossible for them to get back to Serie A next season starting at -17 points. I think that by 2008-2009 they'll be back on track. They're still fighting with the Italian football federation, they have another meeting on August 21st...Don't think it's going to do anything but at least they're fighting in what they believe in.
Forza Juve

it is impossible for them to return to Serie A next season as they start the Serie B season with a 17 points penalty. maybe the following season they will return.

Juventus will start the season with a 17-point deduction, NOT 30 points, that means it is not entirely impossible.
With Gigi Buffon, Del Piero and Nedved, I hope they will.

As much as I love Juve... Realistically it cant be done this season. -17 points is too much of a gap to overcome let alone get enough points to get to the top of the ladder. 2008/ 2009 is when we'll see Juve back in Serie A!!!
