Depends on your monitor type. If it's a CRT you can simply use a slightly moist cloth. If it's an LCD, it might have an anti-dust film which you don't want to remove by accident.
So you need to use special cleaning tissues combined with a special cleaning liquid, which you can buy at the local computer store (mind you, not all LCD's have that film)
By the, way why would you have finger prints on your screen? You aren't really supposed to touch it (especially if it's an LCD)

You can use just about anything that cleans glass (Windex, water, or a cleaning solution); however *never* spray any liquid directly onto the screen -- there is a very real chance that you damage your monitor if any leaks in between the bottom of the screen and the monitor's casing. Instead, spray the cloth you intend to use to clean the screen.

dont use windex because it turns your screen yellow after a while. they say you should buy the actual cleaner but just plain water with a cotton cloth does the trick

you may want to purchase particular cleanin wipes for lcd monitors from pc shops or likely staples or pcworld they artwork a manage and do not smudge or smear in any respect and could in uncomplicated words fee you a pound or 2

i hate those people who put their fingers on the monitor in there discussions including my boss, the solution to keep the foams ( any specific pc cleaner) always behind you with tissues.. thats all
