I doubt very much that you can stop a friend from smoking. It is very difficult to stop and like the booze or drugs the person has to stop for themselves and not others. You can certainly let your friend know how you feel but don't nag as this just angers the smoker more.

I was once a smoker but i believe that the best way to stop smoking is convince yourself and make a discipline!!!! If you say STOP then you must stop...

well its is not so eays to do so but you always try to do so may be one day you get your bet, but mean while ask him to take medicne who prevent smoking newlife tablets, or tell him the worst condition in smoking, and still you cannt make a change,
belive me left him he is no more entitile for your freindship.

You mean quit smoking? If your friend doesn't want to quit then there's no stopping him/her. But if it's you not liking him/her smoking around you. Ask them not to. If he/she sees you as a good friend he/she wouldn't want to upset. They won't. I don't smoke around my friends if they ask me not to.

Buy him/her lots of cigarettes n make him/her smoke n tell them funny jokes until they choke n cough like their lungs r going to explode!!!

You can only educate them. Take them to the local cancer ward and show them really what smoking can cause.

first u shuld tell him\her the bad effects of smoking n then if he doesnt agree n still continues it then tell him tat u r not talking wid him\her n still if he doesnt agree then u cant do nething...
