My partner had a double masectomy and double reconstruction 3 years ago. Is it advisable for her to use a sunbed, say, once a fortnight. I'm a bit worried about it myself.

Nobody should bake herself/himself on a sunbed. That is not only bad for you but makes you grow old very quickly. Don't let her do it. Tell her she's got a beautiful skin and she is glowing, I think she needs to hear that if she's gone through the ordeal of double masectomy.

It's not safe for ANYONE to use a sunbed. Why irradiate oneself with UV (Cancer Causing!) rays??? Suntanning, whether in a sunbed or outdoors, causes wrinkles and cancer.

Is she a glutton for punishment? No she should not use a tanning bed. She is prone to the develpment of cancer and should guard against texposing her self to any kind of proven risk. there are too many good self tanning and slow tanning aids on the market for the need to be that great.

That's similar to asking "is it safe for some one who is clinically obese to eat a nine course meal?". So no, steer clear of sunbeds

If the cancer is completely gone then it is perfectly fine but only for a little while or the cancer my come back

Please be sensitive about it though; if she's been through radical surgery she probably wants to look good. Reassure her, rather than critisising her. And she's got a point, a light tan does make you look healthier and feel good.
How about you treat her to a professional fake tan instead?

its not safe for anyone to use one, it increases the risk of cancer. It can always come back if youve had it before

i wouldn't but its really up too your partner you could pay for her a good spray tan and massage bet she would love you for it plus her nails done
