Ahhh...Mauritius, one of my favorite places in the world. Yeah I know some things about Mauritius. The piment gateau is addictive. The Milles Feuilles in the bakeries in Mauritius are better than in France - much better. The pearona is nice. The Mauritians have good cuisine, although sometimes the piments are "trop fort" for me. Oh no, with all this talk of the good food in Mauritius, mo bizin manzé kit choses!! I like the diverse culture in Mauritius, and the people are some of the friendliest in the world in my opinion. What else do I know? Well, I know that Mauritius has a pretty large population for a small place. 1.4 million is a lot of people, but you still have space for your sugar fields and your guava (goyave), and so that is a good thing. The beaches are nice too of course. I prefer the ones that are kind of less populated. Caudan is pretty nice in Port Louis, but it is pretty hot and humid in that city. What else? Oh, I know Rose Hill, Curepipe, Grande Baie, Beau Bassin, Pointe aux Sables, Terre Rouge, Quatre Bornes, Vacoas. Phoenix Coca-Cola. Oh and I know Roderiques too. I know that at least 50% of the population is Hindu or Tamil/Hindu, about 20% Muslim, about 20% Catholic and the rest are a mix of various religions and Christian Churches. One thing I have never understood about Mauritians is why so many desire to leave their beautiful country looking for adventure or a better way of life. Why??
