I can only hope that this reality TV crap dies off. Personally, I don't get into watching people eating big bugs or risking their life for a million dollars. I have to stop and wonder, if this what we have become?

i dont think reality shows will die. they cost so little to make, and people seem to love them, personally the idea of big brother 2 was all i needed to get rid of my tv
anything where the general public, will entertain the general public for months on end, for no fee will allways be a winner
I think a new trend, might become live webcams, eg channel 65 murphys bar, back table, looking at the bar.. Even cheaper to make, and total drivel..
I think companies would love to stick up a £10 webcam, and sell the idea. Maybe channel 70 backstage at the palladium...
I also think as everyone wants to go on tv something like shout booths might catch on. you put a booth in a high street, people go in pay £2 for a minute, and say what ever the hell they want.. if its not racist etc.. it gets aired once or 20 times 24 hours a day..... just have to pay to make the booth, then move the booth, then people give you cash..... great idea
Sooner or later, i can see droves of people getting rid of their tvs, and instead buying something like a spoon, or a bag of peas, because its more interesting, the problem is that they would still stare at it for 8 hours a day drooling like some comformist little robot, full of omeny and hate, and no good outlet..

Reality tv has taken over in North America too and frankly there's nothing real about it . It's edited and scripted.
I think bad tv is due to the fact that the majority of writers of tv programs in North America are under 40. If you're over 40 in North American tv you're better off dead.
My hope is that they start to hire older writers who can actually tell stories , don't rely on stupid young actors who think they're all that and start doing programs that appeal to us baby boomers. There's alot of us around and many have money to spend.
I'd like to see real entertainment shows come back not garbage like America's Got Talent, the freak show to end all freak shows.
I'm tiring rapidly of rock music wanna be shows.
There's even too many news magazines on now .
How about a tv show where they actually discuss subjects and are not there to plug their latest book, movie, tv show?

Land line replaced by cellphone. Calculator, books, newspaper by computer...
TV will move to the Internet. News, home videos, sports, movies, reality shows, Roman Amphitheater shows that satisfy the mobs, voting up and down.
Look, when smart people ran TV, they tried to provide high level entertainment. As the mob gains sway thru the Internet, focus on immature youth, it will go down. So think dumber and dumber. It will not, cannot get better, on average.

all european tv is going the same way. its all going to be digital soon. with britain the quality of the tv is rapidly decreasing. repeats of porridge open all hours tv pundits remembering back on the 70's. quiz call the learning zone. the list goes on. they are trying to force digital tv early by ripping the british veiwers off.. they need to take inspiration of rte television. quality tv top name films ect..

I personally think reality TV has been done to death. Its all just repetitive crap now. I think it seems the crime era is on the horizon. More & more shows are crime oriented (bones, close to home, human trafficking etc etc).
