I have an ipod video [30GB] but am not able to transport any video into it

download it and convert your videos into MP4 format so your ipod can accept them. After you converted them, just drag them to i-tunes and they should upload to your ipod.

Yes you cannot transfer any songs etc to your iPod if you are using a "Windows OS"
If you want to transfer your data using a Windows OS you have to install the software called 'iTunes' it is an interface to transfer data from your PC to your iPod (usinf Windows OS)
You can use it to transfer all your songs, videos, pictures etc from your PC to your iPod (and vice versa)
If you want to transfer a video or song that has a different format (or not supported by iPod), the iTunes can also convert that file to a useable format.
So its "iTunes' that you need to have.

add the file to itunes
sync the ipod
