The coolest people don't follow fashions, they create them. An original that looks and behaves the way other people love to imitate is still an original. So be an original.

Of course this is not just in fashion in the sense of clothes and hair and fingernails. It is the way you talk, the way you act, and even more to the point, the way you think. Like I said, be an original.

But set aside worrying whether or not what you do well is something someone else has already done, or even something someone else has done better. Just do what moves your heart. Be an original.

With so many people being lost in one downward spiral or another, it is very cool indeed to be confident that it is UP you are moving, not down. And to do that, you need to decide which end is up. No joke. Mother Nature gave you a clue when she put your brain on the top of your head. She was trying to tell you something about the relative importance of it compared to other centers of motivation. FEEL with the lower organs, and THINK with the one on top. That should help control the processes of the lower organs, to your long-term advantage. Be an original.

And keep your cool.
