My mother was "married off" at the age of 13 right here in Missouri and the guy was 32.My grandmother was having an affair with this guy,and in order to keep up the relationship,she married my mother off to him.My mother left him after having 6 kids with him.He kept her locked up so she couldn't leave.She spent 1 year in a mental hospital b/c of him.She later married my dad and had 4 more kids.She was just a baby when she had her 1st 6 kids so they were put up for adoption.2 of them she never saw again before she died.2 of them committed suicide.
It is really really wrong what my grandmother did and I can't believe it is still going on.BUT in the eyes of the law ,even if they are married it is called statutory rape,if they have sex before she is 18.

That would have required her parents written consent. The parents have a problem if they allowed that. Now how about India where they pick their girls husbands for them usually before they are 12. Thailand where selling children for sex is accepted. Islamic countries where women cannot vote, go to school, drive. or talk to men not in their family.
