The Tories aren't scum, but New Labour is, especially John Prescott, he's a piece of sh1te! I want the tories to win the next election to keep the scum down, Labour positively allows the scum to thrive, why do you think the country is so up sh1t creek at the moment?

You only think they are scum because you disagree with what they belive in.
There are much better paid proffesions than ploitics so if they were in it just for the money they'd be working elsewhere.

Personally, i wouldn't do the job because of press invasion, huge working hours, threats to your life and and your family, etc but they are driven by trying to change this country for the better.

You can't say that you agree with every policy from labour or the party you support, everyone working for the party doesn't agree with everything.

If you disagree so strongly, join the party you agree with and make a change to this country yourself, during this process you will see how dificult it is and that 'tories are not all scum'.

Come on...thats a wide sweep, man! It was just a shame that many of the massive changes in British society occurred whilst the Tories were in power - would Labour have played the game differently? What would Labour have done between, 1979 and 1987? How would they have tackled, say, the miners strike and race riots? Callaghan let the Tories in, in '79 because he couldn't deal with the 'Winter of Discontent' (remember the mountain of garbage in London streets, among other kick-offs and strikes). 'Crisis, what crisis?' was his reply...now if that wasn't scuzzy, what was? There are a few of all parties who will play the game for what they can get (and damn the people who they represent), and not meaning to spoil your day - Labour doesn't exactly come up tops right now.

Not all Tories are scum - misinformed, prejudiced and selfish perhaps. Some of them sincerely believe that their policies are good for the country just as supporters of other political parties do. As for only looking out for themselves - read the history and beliefs of Thatcherism and the social divisiveness it engendered.

No of course all Tories are not scum, simply misguided. Maggie did more damage to this country than any PM since she was in power, but try to get a Tory to admit it.

Have you actually read any political manifestos? If you read the political party manifestos blind-you probly wouldnt be able to tell which is which. There were studies though for the last general election who showed hundreds of people policies from the different parties and guess what-the ones they actually chose to be the right ones for society were CONSERVATIVE.
And when read as a whole 90% of those questioned wanted Britian to adopt the manifesto that turned out to be that of the Conservative party. Its a crazy world!!!!!!!!!!!

How can you single out the tories for looking after their own interests when the current Labour party has people like Prescott and Madelson in it?

Most politicians in all political parties look after their own interests.

I expect there are some quite nice ones really, well brought up and just a bit misguided.
The right tends to look out for people it identifies as 'belonging' to the preferred group and screw everyone else, the left tends to be concerned about everyone.
Remmber that the Nazis attacked germans. The fact that those germans aslo happened to be communists, disabled, mentally disabled, gypsies and Jewish is what we tend to remember. They attacked their own citizens first.

NO. I wish Maggie had been succeeded by Norman Tebbitt. Now there was a man who had common sense written all over him. Dr Sir Rhodes Boyson was another of their better ministers too.

Labour have never had a decent politician since Hugh Gaitskell.

They are worse than Labour in many ways. They are extremely unsupportive and unhelpful with the working class person, they have a tendency to favouer the middle and upper classes. They created the council tax. they were extremely soft on immigrants and are greatly responsible for why millions of them having been sponging off our country for years. In short they are pompous and completely out of touch.
