what do you think of chinese student in high school?
i am a chinese student in china.
what i post is to get a investigation of chinese student stereotype from westerners.
it's quite interesting.this is my first time to be here.

I taught English in China for a semester to Chinese high school students in a private school.
I heard that public school students were good and worked hard but as for the private school, the Chinese high school students we're very bad.

First, get ready to take off your rose colored glasses. There are a lot of good people here and many jerks, some adults and a lot of kids.
Americans are very internally focused, unlike the rest of the world. Most do not have a stereotype, except for accent and gullibility.
If there is a stereotype, most I think believe that Chinese focus on studies much more than we do.

in my area of the country, the culture is very diverse. at school, if something about "all asians/chinese being smart and being nerds" is mentioned, it is pretty much just teasing among friends.
i've never been in a racist situation until just recently, one very weird old (white) lady said "You're in America. Speak English" to me.
i was only speaking chinese, gosh. and i wasn't even talking loud.

yahwhoon, the first who answered, shows you the worst attitude towards Chinese.
But I am sure this person is among the minority to be dying out like dinosaurs.

umm... i'm not sure, yet possibly those sponsor places like international resourceful and prescient or loose the little ones would desire to have some thing like that. even though it rather is super that u choose to sponsor somebody. it rather is rather staggering :)

I think they are great to have around ... it makes school more culturaly diverse.
