Mobile phones do not have dial tones, as the user instead presses "send" to complete the call once the desired phone number is entered.
With a traditional landline phone, you activate the line first (dial tone) then enter the number.

Dial tone is basically an acknowledgement given by the exchange server in order for your request to make a call.in the case of a mobile phone you are always inside the coverage(mostly)of the exchange.so the exchange has alloted you a specific time(usually 20milli seconds)to answer your request.which means that you are always permitted to make a call.you dont have to request the server permission to make a call.so there is no dial tone in your mobile phone.
