How about $26.00 per hour.
I worked backwards into that to get about $50,000 per year.
After basic needs are met and other necessities, the luxuries satisfy to a point. Then after $50,000 per year it's no longer a question of what you need but what feeds your ego. A dangerous zone for many by the way.
So, if people could stop and pause as they begin earning more than $50,000 per year or $26.00 per hour and see what makes them truly happy in life, they would probably be better-anchored (as they earn more than this amount) in the things that truly matter and the things that money can't buy.
Then again, I could be wrong...

What is considered 'a good life'. It's subjective. To some, a meal is something enough to fill the stomach, provide energy for the day and they will be most contended. To some, the meal has to be in a restaurant, good food and fine wine. Anything less will be not be considered. It will depends on what your expectations are, what life style you want to lead. My advice - live simply :-) and be happy.

I live simply. I consider making US$25/hr to be able to live a good life. Right now I probably make US$4/hr and I considered to be highly paid for someone my age and in my country.

To live the good life? I wouldn't have to earn anything. Who needs money when your living on an island in the pacific, catching fish from the sea, eating the crops you have grown on the land. I cant imagine money being able to help there...

I think around $100.00/hour ought to be enough to qualify for a comfortable life. I live a pretty good life at far less than that, but there's a few things that I would like to have that are out of my reach financially.
'Nuff said?

I don't think about that too much. A "good life" to me is probably more along the lines of family, friends, and living my dream.

I believe the ideal life is steady, small income from many sources. Small-business, investment (real estate, stock, etc), savings, sales (cookies, pencils, small items), art and craft (model, etc.) I find a life with diverse income sources safe, secure, fun and interesting.
