well i've booked a flight to the phils this october as a part of my semester break holiday. i made the decisions about a month ago, well:
1. i've been there in manila for 12 days last april and it's a terrible, horrible experience. i've been cheated by my then "girlfriend". we met online and i went to phils to meet her and she left me in limbo alone in manila after finding out that i'm not as rich as she thought and after i refuse to gave her money (she tried to extort me using various tricks but i managed to avoid it using various techniques).
now i think that i'm ready to go again but i'm confused. i'm afraid of being alone with memories will be play again when i', there. i dont want to be sad and alone thinking about what she did to me.i need to forget her and enjoy the vacation.
i dont know if i'll be able to enjoy the holiday without dumping the emotional baggage because of the wh0re. i dont want to be alone and should i proceed or cancel the trip and wait for 5 years??

there's no need for you to cancel your plans in going to the philippines... if you're sore about your scheming girlfriend, then go to a place very far from her... you can still enjoy the sun, the beach and the people... it's your vacation and it's your time to unwind... if th place haunts you because of your experience last april then i think it's time to face your fear... to know if it's a palce worth going to without losing your heart again...
just have fun... forget your ex... she's a closed chapter a very hard lesson you learned in life... at least now you'll be wary of whom you'll speak to and whom you'll trust
when you go alone... lots of filipinos will be glad to take care of you... just know what kind of people you're mingling with...

I am Filipino and I apologize what happened to you. But you are not only the one who was the victim of this incident. Some foreigners from different countries marries a Filipina, made them pregnant. Promised to get back and fetch them but end up forgetting everything.
Trusting people you meet from the internet is really a gamble.
If you have decided to go to the Philippines. I could help you on some notes
if youre going on Manila , stay in ortigas and Makati ONLY. Dont wear jewelries. Don't use public transport like buses and trains. Beware of pickpockets and conmen. If you can use a tourist guide or a Filipino friend , the better. Go to high profile places.
I recommended Boracay and Baguio. Be cautious.
Don't go to Mindanao.

I have no idea why you have to go to that God forsaken place and relive that memory....are you looking for a cheap thrill or is this something you enjoy doing? So you have been made use of and came to realise that life is not a bouquet of flowers...so go get a life! So you have been dumped before and in that still confused state you are going back again to relive and perhaps re-enact that drama again.....The same scene may happen again but then again it may not and you may find someone wonderful. What exactly are you looking for? A playmate or a serious relationship? Perhaps you should change your plans and go somewhere quiet to unwind your thoughts and get real!

Im from Manila Phil, sorry for what had happen to you, let me tell you something, not all Filipino's are kinda Bad People, everywhere in this world have Bad People,dont generalize it.It's individual differences...

Besides you booked another trip even you had a bad trip last time.
NO MATTER what you say Many Filipinos think ALL Americans are rich.
If my wife and I get into a fight she tries to pull a fast one on me....I told her I was rich....only problem I have 2000 leters telling her I'm NOT rich before we got married.
I asked her Don't the Filipinos in USA tell the Filipinos in the Philippines NOT every one is rich....she sayed they don't believe them.
Whatever you do FORGET Manila, I've spoke to many Filipinos here in the USA and they say they don't like Manila.

Ya you can still proceed of your plan if u want to, whatever experiences do u encounter before I guarantte to you that the second time u go there you will be having a real good time, who knows for the second time you been there u will find unexpectedly the lady or a friend that u can really trust for....Dont change your mind and go for it...goodluck and enjoy your vacation, wish u can find the trustworthy freind to be with.......

My God, that was terrible. You made the mistake of meeting someone online for a so called friendship. Mostly everyone online lies about their lives. You can go again but enjoy yourself without any commitments. Hang around, have fun.
