Oh and like how they just had to make a 9/11 movie only 5 years later. I thought that was completely atrocious.
Hollywood is clearly running out of talent, and they will take any lame, or disrespectfull, or sell-able, or 15 minute plot they can get thier greasy mongrel hands on.
World Trade Center completelyshocked me, and proved that they will do probably anything to make some money. And of course they did nothing short of shame christopher reeve and the original superman. and they're also going to pull every single cent they can out of the Pirates of the Carribbean franchise.
and notice, there are way more sequels, and movies made from Tv shows and books then there are actual screen plays. (The Devil Wears Prada, The Davinci Code, and Strangers With Candy, Pirates, XMen, Superman... and there are more) I said this in a similar question I posted, why do they feel the need to reheat the classic dishes? They never taste the same.
But I guess it's just they hype, they always advertise and make a big deal out of the summer movies, (because they want you to spend your vacation money on them), and I always find that the summer blockbusters never live up to thier ratings.
If you only go see one movie this summer, make it "Little Miss Sunshine", if you come from a dysfunctional, or even just any family, you will find it absolutley outstanding. (and notice, it's an indie movie, not from Hollywood!)
And hopefully this winters movies will be much better, I saw previews for Babel, The Prestige, and BORAK (which i think will be the next napolean dynamite!)
But good luck to you in finding a decent way to spend your summer nights and $7.50 before summers over.

It's because the world of movie making is just "coming of age" and so are the people who watch them. Movies go in cycles of almost nonstop remakes and then people get sick of it and original stuff comes out again. This is apparent in the careers of movie stars and directors. For example there isn't a definate A-list of actors anymore because every director wants to discover the next big star. So even big names like Johnny and Brad are being pushed aside for a younger demografic.
