Newcomers to Australia are told this is how we do it in Australia. Things like politics, schools, religion, social equality, women's rights, etc. that includes what makes Australia a unique country are not up for change. If you don't like it this way then move somewhere else. Isn't this the way the USA and Canada should be dealing with new immigrants?

I'm an Australian and believe me they may be told how it's going to be but as soon as immigrants are in the tables turn we have places being asked not to fly the Australian flag because it's offending people(which an aussie was also told in florida by the way) it is fast becoming a place where the minorities have more freedom and say than any majority...still a better place to live though :-)

I agree with the other Aussie poster.

Not all who move there embrace the "Aussie way of life", and choose to congregate in their own mini societys (The Muslims in Lakemba, the Chinese in Hurstville). You know something isn't right when they have something like the Cronulla Riot break out.

you CAN TELL PEOPLE WHAT THEY LIKE BUT THEY ONLY CHANGE TILL THEY GET CITIZENSHIP AND THEN THEY EXPECT Australia TO CHANGE TO THEIR WAYS.
