If that happens in my case, I will just think that - that Sunday in particular is just an ordinary weekday that my BOSS needed me, and that;s rewarding to have that kind of trust from my BOSS.. I tell you, just take it with a smile and forget that its a Sunday...

Sometimes in life, we need favors from our Boss, you know, give and take principle... maybe you'll be applying for a higher position and he/she can recommend you...

After all he/she is still my boss. Good luck!

You make your choice. If you really loved your job, working on Sunday would not make any difference, you would do this anyway.

Your boss can "rob" you of anything that you allow him to rob. You can say no, but be aware of the consequences. You could also call the client to attempt to reschedule. You could tell your boss that you want control of your scheduling. Or you can continue to act like a victim.

Either get pissed enough to find another job or get a new attitude about your current job and your boss.

Get over it. Meet the client. Yes he can rob you of your Sunday if he asks, you can say no, but if it isn't worth losing you job over. besides he will most likely make it up to you some other time. Cool down.

Well, you can either do it, re-read your contract and tell him "no" or consider other alternative.

Many people get treated like this by their boss - I guess you have to ask yourself whether it's a good place to work normally and he's in a difficult spot - or whether he's someone you don't really want to work for any more, in which case, start looking at the alternatives.

There is nothing wrong to work on Sundays or your off days. Besides your boss offered it as "OT", which means you are being paid for it - hence he did not "rob" your weekend.

I always share with my colleagues that "If the ship floats, we all float. If the ship sinks, we all sink likewise."

We sometimes have to do things that we would rather not do. That is life. Do you value your employment?

I worked many weekends. Did not get paid at all for it. I worked one time 36 straight hours. Did not get paid at all for it. And I would do it again if I had to.

I valued my job and I valued the company that I worked for.

You could do it with a great attitude, earn some OT pay, and some suck-up points, and wow a client with your great attitude, and willingness to go above and beyond.

What does your job description say? Are you contracted to work weekends, will you get the day back in lieu?

Are you going to be paid overtime or time and half. Do you work on salary if so then you can refuse. Because of that. But be cautious in your decision you don't want it to cost u your job. Are you on commission? If no time and half I wouldn't do it, but i work in healthcare.
