Well i dont think that ppl were as excited abt brad and angelina getting married....there werent contests where the winner will get to go to the wedding....

It's because she's marrying an ex-husband, old man, who just recently finalised his divorce. His previous marriage - he has 3 sons, youngest being 8.
A lot of fans not cool with this becuase he is not worthy of her, their young sweet thing.......
Dunno why she's doing the whole thing in public too : contests, televised wedding, showing off her blings, telling everybody exactly where & when the wedding will take place, etc
She'd terrible, she's not shy that he's NOT a prince. She can never have that fairy tale wedding, i feel she's forcing & making it happen for herself....
The poor ex-wife....

It could be because of the fact that no one has announced the wedding on with a press conference, and now having the wedding with full live broadcast. Even royalties, don't have such 'privileges'. Furthermore, the age gap is quite a substantial different - 20 huge years. This is after all a more Asian kind of thinking. It is beyond our norm to accept this. It is also curiosity which kills as she wants to arrive in a carriage on the wedding reception day.

People take interest in celebrity circuses to fill up the void in their own sad lives. Same goes for the interest in Brad & Angelina, Tom & Katie, and so on.
Whether they'll admit it or not, this is a sign of uneducated working class weakness, and it's this sort of blind fanboy-ism that allows trashy, cheap entertainment like 'Mangga' to dominate newsstands. You don't see enlightened people taking an interest in this sort of stuff.
The whole concept of worshipped celebrities, who make way too much money for what they're giving society is partly a result of people who stick their noses too deep into something that will never affect their own lives one bit, i.e., Siti's wedding.

Definately most of the people, esp her fans will look forward to her wedding. If any one of you does not know her, then I guess, you guys have not been reading the newspaper. She is my idol and so for many of the many people out ther. I strongly agree with rawmind79. Just respect other people's view if you despise it.
And, Asian artists from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan can strive just like the Hollywood stars. You dont have to hear people talking about hollywood stars and that makes them so great. Asians can strive too :)

Because she is Malaysia's muilti-millionaire diva. Her popularity in Malaysia & Indonesia is equivalent to that of Britney Spears' in the States. It has nothing to do with this --> "Malaysia's a land of mediocrity populated with people of small minds - trivia makes frontpage news." That's exactly the kind of statement you'd expect to hear from a small-minded person.
People everywhere around the world talk about celebrity couples... Brangelina, Bennifer, etc etc. It's normal.
