As the first answerer mentioned, it could be lack of potassium. Eat a banana every day and see if the symptoms resolve.
Depending on your age and dairy intake, leg/foot cramps could also be a calcium deficiency. Its a really good idea for all women to take at least 500 mg of Calcium (along with Magnesium and Zinc) until they are 40 years old, 1000 mg until they are 50 years old, and 1500 mg from then on.

It could be a circulation problem. If the cramps occur during or shortly after heavy physical activity, it may be lack of electrolytes. Gatorade and similar sports drinks are designed to help this problem. Taking salt alone is not good for you.

Primarily, it potassium deficiency. Eat a banana everyday, drink plenty of water, avoid too much salt, and always get a full night's sleep. The less you sleep, combined with low potassium status, causes cramps occurrences usually at dawn--which makes you have less sleep... and more cramps... and less sleep... (there goes the downward spiral, mind).

I had the same problem and it only gets worse. You should have your blood calcium level checked. your liver may not be producing enough vitamin D. I have to take calcitriol twice a day for the rest of my life.I was getting spasms in my neck and it was shutting down my wind pipe and couldn't breath, so it is a serious condition IF YOU have the same problem. A simple blood test will tell. Good luck

Many times it's not getting enough potassium. Foods with potassium in them: Oranges, bananas, potatoes. Especially taters. Hope this helps.
