Who is really in charge…
As the Eurhythmics song Sisters goes: "behind every great man there’s a great woman", don’t know if you’ve noticed but in the Bush, Blair, Clinton, Major, Windsor, Thatcher, Reagan, and Kennedy Partnerships, the woman seems to be the one with the Smarts…
What do you think???

I agree totally. It won't change the neanderthals amongst us, but I think the time is coming for more women to be in charge, as long as they don't go like Maggie, she didn't do much for us. What we need are more feminine women in charge. They can not make it any worse than it is now.
The only thing they won't be able to make much of a difference is some religions - its s closed club for men only!!!

It would depend on your politics how one would respond to your question. For example, saying anything positive about the female who has already lived in the White House and now wants to go back as the boss, that goes against my grain. And rumor has it Mrs. Reagan had plenty of advisers, some of them perhaps a bit unorthodox, shall we say? As to Windsor and Thatcher, those are great women in their own right, not as the wife of someone great (no offense intended to either gentleman involved). And the Kennedys -- there are so many; which couple did you mean? Personally, I think Jack and Jackie were a real team, but I'm not going to compare their IQs.
Lots of times it's not so much "behind" as "beside."

Perhaps you should say "behind every great PERSON there’s a great SPOUSE", is that what you meant?
Because well, Denis Thatcher actually WASN'T a woman.
He WAS a great spouse. He supported his wife incredibly well, he even stayed up till 3 AM to make her roast beef sandwiches while she was planning the destruction of the Argentinian Junta. He never had the typical male psychotic "insecurity" melt down in the face of raw female power that many men unfortunately seem to suffer. He was his own successful man and yet he simply backed his wife all the way as any spouse should.
(Once asked who wore the trousers in the Thatcher household, he replied: "I do. And I wash and iron them too.")
A great SPOUSE, yes Denis certainly was that, but a WOMAN, UGH, no he wasn't.........

well it's the whole point to the lyrics....we (us women) don't need men .. as we're doing it ourselves..there have been and still are some very powerful woman in the world!
years ago we were supposed to hide behind a man and be doing all the chores etc..some woman still do that i guess..but most of us don't lol!!! why should be.. we want equality yet we want chivalry.. we do confuse these chappies don't we lol!!
behind every great woman.. there is a man following her every breath and dulcate tones... hoping if he is a good boy he'll be rewarded by s*x in which if he doesn't make her orgasm..he wont feel like a man anymore.. "lol that wasn't the way it used to be" .. isn't it great how times have changed...girl power:-)

Do not include Cherie Blair. She is a odd-ball person, supporting left wing crazy Human Rights cases and a money grabbing lawyer who is not fit to be the wife of the Prime Minister.

Thats' because the women have the balls. Thatcher had her own set of balls, which frightened the hell out of her cabinet, the cowards.......after a strong woman they had to choose a weakling of a man, they missed out on Tarzan, he would have been a great PM.

I agree for the most part, i think Blair is actually quite intelligent but he is only after what he can get for himself which is why he is a bad PM. His wife is a cheap tart.
