I have a table which having an unit price field. I put decial as the field data type. I plan to store different currency such as yen, USD, etc.
what is the scale value shall I put? some currency may not has decimal like yen. I don't know if there is currency decimal may up to 3 or 4 decimal.
What if I put 4 as the scale value and put auto on decimal places?
Please help.

When dealing with money it is silly to use fractions because coins are not chopped into pieces. I recommend rounding to the whole number of cents by chopping off any fractions and leaving it at that except for the very first value you are converting from.

Currency have everytime 4 decimals. This is the international setting for the currency datatype.
For to show the values I think the best choice will be two

If you are dealing with multiple currencies,you cannot apropriately choose the number of decimal places because thei values are far different.The usual standard is 2 decimal places.See international currency tables.
