I completed my degree last summer and only found a job 3 months ago, after almost a year of looking. I got many interviews, where i was told i had impressed alot and left the building truly believeing the job was mone. Then i always got the same letter saying they liked my portfolio and my attitude but had chosen someone with more experience.
Its a bit of a no win situation. They all want you to have the qualification and the experience, which you can't get unless someone gives you a chance.
I found my solution with a company in newcastle called Entrust. You should be able to find their contact details through the net. They do a graduates for business programme where they set up graduates with 15week positions in their chosen field of work. However, the job is usually always permanant and lasts beyond their 15 week involvement. They will probably be other companies that do this, but this is the only one i know of.
Good luck and if you want me to dig their number out, mail me through my 360 page.

Because so many garduates studied a subject that will never get them a job.
I know someone studying Peruvian History at Uni.
Wow!
That should get them a job in the city alright then!
I knew another guy who spent 5 years studying animation.
He is English but he was at an American uni for 3 years and a German uni for 2 years.
He is now working as a waiter.
Yes, I know there is lots of work around for animators but these days it's all computerised. This bloke did it the old Walt Disney way - 100 drawings per second of film.
Would you believe one year of those studies was on how to colour in. (That's "color" if you're American)
Now I don't know about you, but I stopped colouring (or coloring) things in when I was 6.
And that's the reason.
Good morning

â£because there are and a lot of those graduates who didn't choose wisely while they were in school you know how many people i know that are studying marine biology and not one of them will be able to get a job after they graduate it's ridiculous. choose a career that has a high demand, not something that's not even attainable it's just redundant and you end up wasting all that money and all those years, you also end up joining all your high school classmates who didn't get out of town at the local McDonald'sâ£

you should have done an apprenticeship as a plumber instead or an electrician or a bricklayer. Then you will never be out of work
