Their sound at this time (Sgt Pepper, Magical Mystery Tour, All You Need Is Love, etc.) could not be reproduced live. It wasn't just basic rock like their early music. Also they were no longer a stage act. Their concentration was on studio music.

By that time they had stopped giving public performances in order to concentrate totally on creating music in the studio. Also, they were not getting along well enough to have attended.

They got bumped by Tim Hardin. Appears he was willing to play there of free. True story.
